Spotify constantly changes their “This is Mozart” Playlist to include the latest renditions of his symposiums. This playlist contains what I believe are Mozart’s most faithful symposium renditions. *UNFINISHED*
I have no concrete evidence to support this claim, but I believe Spotify’s “This Is Mozart” playlist is corrupt. Since beginning this classical journey I have found some absolutely gorgeous renditions of Mozarts compositions and yet they’re no where to be found in “This is Mozart” now I understand music like all art is subjective but comparatively there are MASSIVE GAPS! How do you miss that? I’m not sure how Spotify dictates who gets in “This is Mozart” but I smell tomfoolery afoot. I don’t think there’s an actual person putting these together, it’s most likely some algorithm that after a rendition has been in “This is Mozart” for a certain amount of time it gets booted. If that is the case that is a moronic approach. I’ll reiterate, I have no actual evidence to support this claim perhaps my negative perception of people has gotten the better of me, but I believe some of these artist are paying their way in. This is just speculation but getting into the “This is Mozart” or really any of the “This is” playlist is extremely lucrative. At the time of my writing this, the “Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart” artist profile has “6,622,726” monthly listeners. Getting a nice cut of those listeners would definitely give the artist in “This is Mozart” a good boost in their monthly listeners. I’m going to attempt to find evidence to support my claim. Regardless of how Spotify decides who gets in their “This is” playlist, the renditions of these legendary composers are terrible. So I’ve taken it upon myself to make “THIS IS ACTUALLY MOZART” I have my work cut out for me, there are SO MANY FUCKING RENDITIONS TO GO THROUGH! But so far I’m loving it, Classical Music is divine, and despite having no lyrics I find it to be so rich in feeling and story. While putting together “THIS IS ACTUALLY MOZART” I’m going to try approaching it objectively although as I write that, I realize that Music is extremely subjective. I’ll try my best.
A few hours have passed since I wrote the previous paragraph and my dear beloved Lord of the Underworld Pluto, I might have bitten off more than I can chew with this little project. The volume of renditions is monumental! I’m beginning to feel overwhelmed. My Psychologist told me not to focus on the Labels but I have a devoir to be transparent. This OCD inspires belief in the devil, in hell. How is the Human Brain capable of inflicting such gargantuan suffering? I have so many questions, but I have surrendered completely to my Psychologist. I trust her, she cares. I’m currently on vacation visiting my sister, when I get back I complete the assignments my Psychologist gave me. The first is finding a Psychiatrist. There’s no God or Allah, may the almighty Odin lead me like an Ass to fresh water.
